Technology

Hydra EVO and our partners can manufacture Liquid Sodium Silicate (LSS), Liquid Potassium Silicate (LPS), Precipitated Silica and Activated Carbon from rice husks. Our plants will be self-sufficient in power supply and the surplus energy will be made available to the national grid, or to the local communities and industry.

The process is a zero waste chemical process, using rice husk ash as feed, to produce precipitated silica and other by-products. By use of this innovative technology and process, we can extract silica which is over 90% pure.  The silica produced can be used for a number of major products including tyres, rubber and rubber based products, footwear, paints, coatings, toothpaste, food and pharmaceuticals.
Other areas where silica based and associated products can be used include, but are not limited to, products used by the global oil and gas industry and also the construction industry.

Highly dispersible silica is an advanced grade of Precipitated Silica that can be used in the production of energy efficient green tyres, to improve their performance. The silica reduces the rolling resistance, while improving the grip of the tyre. This results in improved mileage, while reducing the greenhouse gas emissions.

Our technology has various advantages over conventional precipitated silica production technologies, which today mainly is based on traditional mining. The conventional technology is very power consuming, and uses sand produced from quartz as a base material for silica, whereas our process uses rice husk ash.
Our technology can produce better quality silica compared to existing conventional methods, as it is a more flexible method of production, using only a fraction of the energy compared to traditional.
